THE RISE OF RUNNING AND THE SOCIAL GENERATION
14 hours agoLADbible Group have conducted a report into the rise of running amongst young people driven by social media and the need for social connection.
The survey was conducted by LADnation, the consumer youth panel by the world’s leading social publisher LADbible Group.
It is revealed that:
- 49% of our Gen Z audience are hitting the pavement monthly
- Running isn’t solo anymore with 75% of Gen Z preferring to run with someone else
- Gen Z being significantly more likely to go to a run club to socialise vs improve performance. 72% go to meet new people
- 63% of runners find their gear through platforms like TikTok and Instagram
- 65% of Gen Z post about their running on social media. 35% share their runs, 22% post their PBs and 6% post their own running videos
- 22% Gen Z are significantly more likely than millennials to agree “Run clubs are the new dating app”
